The OVOOcado Telephony Application Server (OTAS) enables the rapid delivery of converged services across IMS, NGN, and Legacy SS7 networks. Mobile and Fixed operators are challenged by OTT and VoIP providers who are providing cross-border low cost or free communication services.
The OTAS helps CSPs to leverage existing infrastructure, extend return-on-investment and rapidly deploy new services. There are two main use cases:
- VoLTE/VoWiFi calling
VoLTE services are gaining momentum and bringing several benefits for operators and customers like improved end-user service, better voice quality, and faster call set-up times.
On the other hand, VoWiFi can lower TCO on VoLTE network rollout and enable operators to use voice service inside modern buildings which are strongly isolated. CSP can compete easily with Over The Top players providing VoWiFi roaming calling, improving customers’ overall voice satisfaction.
- MMTel for IMS
A mobile telephony application server (MMTel-AS), stands for the Application Server providing Supplementary Services in IMS core network. Supporting both 3GPP compliant supplementary services as well as PSTN regular Class 5 complementary services and IP-PBX services required by fixed line subscribers. The multi-device services are natively supported as well as a northbound API that enables an operator to build own value-added services.
